Today, Google announced their new Nexus One smartphone and is it a great one indeed. The Nexus One offers up an 800×480 screen, 5 megapixel camera with flash and is powered by Qualcomm’s 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, and uses the Android 2.1 operating system. Prices were announced by many sites last week, with the phone alone costing $529, and $179 with a 2 year contract with T-Mobile. The Nexus One’s smooth and slick screen is bigger than the iPhone and is available in many countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, and Hong Kong. In Europe, Vodafone will be offering up the Nexus One soon along with Verizon in the US. The Nexus One has 512 MB of Flash and 512 MB of RAM, and ships with a 4 GB Micro SD card with support for cards up to 32 GB. This is great news for Google to fight back against Apple, since they have complete control over the Nexus, similiar to how Apple has tight control over the iPhone. The Nexus One is reasonably priced with a two year contract and is a lot more flexible than other Android based phones out ont he market now.
